Here at Big Feast, we receive many of the same questions on a regular basis. For anything not covered here, please email gm@big-feast.ca and we will respond accordingly as soon as possible.

Do you cater events?
Although we started as a full-service caterer in 2010, we made the decision in 2016 to discontinue this service. Our decision was based on both the high volume the bistro experienced on a daily basis, and the expansion of our retail items. We do offer a group menu designed for take-out of groups of 10 or more guests. Each container will be labeled with the individual’s name and item to aid in easy distribution. Our all-inclusive pricing covers the entrée, a fresh-baked cookie, service charges, taxes, napkins, and cutlery. Click here to view our group menu.

Can you cater to specific diets?
Yes, please tell your server and they will inform the kitchen. Our entire menu can be made gluten-free except the stir-fry sauce which is also the marinade for our Tuna Poké bowl. We carry gluten-free buns and bread which are toasted on a clean grill versus in the rotary toaster. We make our own Worcestershire sauce for our gluten-free Caesars. We are also able to offer several keto and vegan options.

Do you take reservations?
Yes, please call the bistro at 604-477-4334 to make your reservation, as staff do not check Facebook or emails regularly during the day. If booking a reservation for a large group (8+ guests), please email gm@big-feast.ca and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, and we offer several options. You can purchase a physical gift card in the bistro that can be redeemed only in the bistro, it is not valid on the online ordering system. You can also purchase an electronic gift card from our website—simply click order online and it will direct you to our ordering site. You have the option to purchase a gift card for yourself, or as a gift that can be sent to the recipient via email.

Can we use your restaurant for a filming location?
Yes, several events have featured Big Feast Bistro as a filming location, including movies, TV shows, and commercials over the years. Based on how busy we are at any given time, opportunities may be limited, so planning in advance is recommended. Feel free to send location scouts to the bistro, and all other inquiries can be sent to gm@big-feast.ca.

Why do you charge an 18% service fee for groups of 7 or more?
We are a full-service restaurant with employees who rely on income to survive. The entire staff share the gratuities as part of their compensation, which allows us to retain them longer in an industry that struggles to keep workers. We also add this 18% service charge to take out orders of 7 or more, as we found when we ended our catering service—which also had an automated service fee—many customers still placed large orders for offices, schools, job sites, etc. The servers taking the orders are still required to send your order through point of sale, label the packaging, pack orders, and ensure food is ready for scheduled pick up. We are very grateful for your ongoing support!

Can I book the bistro for a private event?
Yes, but costs will be determined on factors including time of day and day of the week. We advise calling us at 604-477-4334 to share your event details, as prices will be based on a minimum spend before the automatic 18% service charge and applicable taxes.

As of June 1, 2022:

  • Weekday dinner buyout, semi private: $1,500 before 18% service charge, plus applicable taxes. Indoor seating for up to 48 guests from 5pm to 9pm.
  • Weekend dinner buyout, semi private: $2,500 before 18% service charge, plus applicable taxes. Indoor seating plus patio for up to 66 guests from 5pm to 10pm.
  • Late night buyouts: Based on availability—please email gm@big-feast.ca for more information.

Can you sponsor our event?
We are a proud ongoing sponsor of programs such as Mealshare and Oceanwise, and of organizations including Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation and more. We have always tried to support our community events such as golf tournaments, school fundraisers, sports tournaments, etc. Please submit a letter with details about your fundraising event, and we will do our best to support it, but we must decline during some points of the year. The more notice you can give us will help in guiding our decision.
